Our mission

Peace Neighborhood Center’s mission is to provide programs for children, families, and individuals who are affected by social and economic problems. Peace helps people discover options, enhance skills, and make choices that lead to self-sufficiency and positive community involvement.

Opportunities

Food Distribution

Born out of the need to more quickly and efficiently distribute perishable food items, Peace has been partnering with Food Gatherers for a weekly produce distribution since 2011. Every Friday morning, a diverse population of people from the Washtenaw County community come to Peace to have a choice of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as other items such as bread, desserts, and healthy snacks. The produce distribution at Peace began as a temporary, voucher based program. Today it is an open choice distribution that serves on average 40 families each week. Thank you to our partners at Food Gatherers for helping us meet this need.
