How you help You can make a difference in the sometimes difficult world of mental health. By becoming a volunteer of NAMI Washtenaw County you will help further our mission and increase our presence in the community.
About us NAMI Washtenaw is a local affiliate of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by a mental health condition. NAMI Washtenaw County began humbly with a handful of concerned parents of children with a mental health condition in January of 1984. The organization grew steadily to become the second largest affiliate in the state, and in 1998, won first prize in the NAMI membership contest for affiliates in the 100 to 500 member category. NAMI of Washtenaw County now has over 200 members and continues to thrive and serve the community with two paid staff members.
