Special Events

SHF views Special Events as an integral piece of its overall giving strategy, while at the same time, strengthening relationships and partnerships with people and businesses all across the region. It hosts four special events annually, along with two grant celebrations: Golf Outing (June), Gala (September), Painting the Peninsula Pink (October), Spring Grants Celebration (April) and Fall Grants Celebration (October).

How you help SHF seeks volunteers to help with a variety of roles, ranging from selling merchandise and 50/50 tickets to helping with various facets of the event. SHF seeks volunteers committed to improving the health and well-being of residents in the Upper Peninsula, falling in line with SHF’s mission to “To assist with unmet healthcare needs, with health education, and with programs and research on preventing illness and promoting health.”

That mission may include supporting (a) the unmet healthcare needs of the indigent and uninsured; (b) healthcare education programs; (c) supporting programs and research which have the primary purpose of preventing and reducing illness and disease; and (d) other programs to promote the health, education and welfare of the community.
