How you help UWSCC is comprised of over 290 phenomenal volunteers. Volunteers of all capacities share a common interest in the quality of life of St. Clair County.
About us United Way of St. Clair County (UWSCC) has been a local pillar of the community since 1924. While the organization has changed names through the course of time (Community Chest, War Chest, Red Feather and United Fund), it never changed its purpose or direction. UWSCC exists to provide a mechanism for everyone in the community to give what they can afford to support a network of accountable human services (charities). Every United Way raises funds to be used in their own community for residents of that community; the connecting thread between United Ways is that very philosophy. To be specific, funds raised in St. Clair County are distributed to programs that provide services to residents of St. Clair County. The programs funded through UWSCC are those that assure a standard of living for all of us. Additionally, our United Way always works as a coordinating agency, forming alliances among service providers to address emerging needs as times change.
