Our mission	To ensure youth have a promising future by preparing them to excel in life academics, and work.

Opportunities	Ready 4 School! We are looking for volunteers like you that can ensure youth are prepared to succeed in school and do not fall victim to the summer academic slide and fall further behind. We will be offering academic programming where you can work with 1-2 youth support them in building their skills in reading and math. Weekly 12-15, 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays Events & Fieldtrips Mentor2Youth is always looking for help with with planning and running our events and fieldtrips. We have fieldtrips to museums, sporting events, gaming centers and theme parks. We hold family game nights, award shows, and other events for our families, volunteers and donors. One-time 12-15, 21+ Individuals Outdoor None, On-site Weekends BOSS BOSS works with teenage boys to prepare them for life after high school. Through group discussions, hands-on activities, college tours, company tours and guest speakers, our focus is ensuring these teens have the mindset and tools to excel as a young man. You can volunteers as a: Life, Coach, College/Career Coach, Workshop Presenter, or Mentor. Weekly 21+ Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays Join our Program Taskforce Our program taskforce is all about ensuring we maintain high quality programs an look to enhance what we do with our youth each year. Current professionals assist with: 1. Training staff and volunteers 2. Evaluating programs 3. Designing new components for programs 4. Researching best practices 5. Developing tools and manuals Monthly 21+, 55+ Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays, Evenings Serving on the Board Mentor2Youth is looking for individuals passionate about education and community empowerment looking to provide their valuable skills and expertise towards serving the organization. Board members may assist with: Public Relations, Program Development, Strategic Planning, Fundraising and Development, and Events. Monthly 21+, 55+ Individuals Office work On-site Weekdays, Evenings Future Leaders Program The Future Leaders Program works with students grades 1st – 6th providing educational workshops focused on emotional empowerment, academic achievement and college/career exploration. Daily programs consist of: Lifeskills workshops, Tutoring, Fieldtrips, or Mentoring. Weekly 12-15, Adults Individuals Indoor Formal Weekdays Join our Event Action Team! Mentor2Youth holds events throughout the course of the year focuses on raising awareness, funds and bringing the community closer. We are looking for professionals like you to help us continue to hold great events that positive impact the local community. Examples of current events: Annual Bowling Tournament, Thanksgiving Brunch, Fun in the Park. Monthly 21+, 55+ Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Join our Development Team! The development team is the lifeblood of Mentor2Youth. We launch various initiatives throughout the course of the year focused on providing the necessary resources, manpower and donations needed to continue our expansion towards building a School-to-Career Pipeline. Initiatives you might help out with: StandUp4Youth Campaign, Giving Tuesday, or Coffee and Conversation. Monthly 21+, 55+ Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays

How you help	Volunteers help us implement our school-to-career intervention programs, grounded in the principles of personal, academic and professional development.

About us	Mentor2Youth is committed to impacting the futures of disadvantaged youth throughout Southeast Michigan by supporting them holistically through each phase of their lives. A 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2011, Mentor2Youth is based on a graduate research project conducted by a Michigan State University student that focused on the effects an educational mentoring program had on students’ school performance and personal behavior. Working with several middle school boys, these students were provided with school supplies, academic resources, and a voice in what they thought was most important to learn about. A focus was placed on academic comprehension and life-skills development with these students.
