Our mission

A college immersion and academic enrichment program for youth…Youth participants also beautify their communities by assisting the elderly, veterans, and people with special needs with free lawn care.
Opportunities

Personalized Lessons

We provide tutoring lessons one-on-one via online teleconferencing. Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00PM – 5:15PM Eastern Standard Time. Volunteers normally contribute 1-hr 15 min. per week to assist youth in a particular subject.

Academic Support

We offer youth academic support in English, Math, Reading, and Science. I-ASSIST YOUTH is an extension of The Lawn Academy to increase the academic competency of youth.

About us

The Lawn Academy is committed to meeting quality standards for mentoring that are safe and effective. The Lawn Academy has initiated the 2-step National Quality Mentoring System (NQMS) process, a national continuous quality improvement process for mentoring programs, by completing a quality self-assessment and review facilitated by Mentor Michigan+, and developing an innovation and improvement plan to promote continuous quality improvement and alignment with evidence-based practices for mentoring.
