Volunteer

Our New Service Provider Training is offered to provide specific skills, tools and expertise to members of the community that are interested in working directly with our clients in SafeHouse, 24 hour Crisis Line or join the Emergency Response Team. Background in human services, sociology, medical field, criminal justice, social work or a passion for empowering women. Volunteers are required to complete 24-40 hours of classroom training and job shadowing experience of our services and volunteering opportunities. Openings for this position occurs three times throughout the year. Before taking on the position, training will be provided at the YWCA of Greater Flint. After training is complete we ask for a 6 month commitment to volunteer at the YWCA.

About us The YWCA provides safe protective shelter, legal advocacy, counseling and necessary supportive services for battered women and their children to move them toward self-sufficiency, independence and freedom from abuse.
