The Friends of the Kalamazoo Public Library is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the library as an essential institution in our community.

Helping individuals with dyslexia, learning differences, and other reading challenges to develop lifelong language skills through our multisensory program; assisting educators to identify learning challenges by providing training and techniques to enhance their reading curriculum; increasing community awareness and understanding of literacy issues.

To increase children’s experiences with language and literacy to better understand themselves, communicate with others, and interact with the world.

To make available to children and adolescents in the Greater Lansing Area low/no cost fitness programs that motivate, educate, and instill a life changing, life long bond with physical fitness, helping those who struggle with weight issues (obesity) and aggressive behaviors. (Anti-Bullying)
