Frugal On The Fly presents MLK Day Detroit Toiletry + Food Drive

Frugal On The Fly is hosting a contactless drive thru to gather toiletries, PPE, and nonperishable food for Operation Home 313, a nonprofit serving women veterans and their children with emergency shelter.

Pull up in the circle drive in front of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on Monday, Jan 18 from 11:00am-2:00pm and volunteers will receive your donations.

Preferred toiletry items: body wash, pump hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, hairbrushes, deodorant, body lotion, face moisturizer, toothpaste, adult toothbrushes, child toothbrushes + toothpaste, dental floss, mouthwash, makeup remover, face wash, shaving cream, razors, hair styling products, nail polish, nail polish remover, hand sanitizer, masks, feminine hygiene products, incontinence products

Preferred food items: noodles, rice, dressing, canned vegetables + fruit, canned or dry beans, oatmeal, canned tuna, pasta sauce, peanut butter, cereal, canned soup, applesauce, canned chicken, dried fruit, shelf stable milk, honey, cooking oil, crackers, dried herbs and spices, granola bars, instant mashed potatoes, shelf stable meals in a box, cake or brownie mix

Frugal On The Fly creates affordable and accessible events for individuals and families, along with educating the community about vital services and volunteer opportunities.

Operation Home 313 is a nonprofit, 501c3 community-based organization striving to be the premier agency for advocating, supporting, and encouraging women veterans and families in Detroit. Their primary mission is to provide comprehensive housing and supportive services, eliminating barriers, and increasing opportunities for successful transition from homelessness to permanent housing.
