To maintain an association of philanthropic individuals to raise, receive and administer gifts, endowments and bequests for and to support the goals and objectives of the Sloan Museum and the Longway Planetarium.

To empower people with developmental disabilities in Shiawassee, Ingham, Clinton, and Eaton counties to participate in and be fully included in the community.

To promote and enrich the quality of life for older adults and those who care for them by collaboratively providing meaningful services and opportunities.

We provide $20,000 each year to support hundreds of free programs for children and adults, including programs that focus on early literacy, history, and music, as well as technology classes and author visits. Friends also supports cultural enrichment in Muskegon through the annual Charles H. Hackley Distinguished Lecture in the Humanities.
