Docents guide visitors on lighthouse tours, historic walking tours, and through our museum exhibits. Archives, events, and public relations docents are also needed.

Volunteers work at the museum, build exhibits, and assist with record-keeping, maintenance of exhibits, and programming.

Take part in our education programs by conducting school field trip presentations, liaising with schools, and developing new field trip opportunities.

Assist by organizing events, soliciting donations, grant writing, grant management, identification of grant opportunities, and more.

Public relations and marketing volunteer help with: graphic design, establishing contacts, media/advertising, conducing community presentations, securing media support, helping identify partnering opportunities, and delivering fliers to area schools.

Additionally, volunteers are needed for community engagement and door-to-door literature distribution in the neighborhoods near D-Town Farm, the DBCFSN office and the area where the Detroit People’s Food Co-op will be located.

Help out at D-Town Farm. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied and monitored by a responsible adult.
