Martin Luther King Day of Service – Teacher Appreciation Care Pack

About this event
Provide teachers in Grand Rapids Public Schools, Grand Rapids, Michigan, who are starting in person instruction on January 19th with a Teacher Appreciation Care Package that shows support and encouragement. Organize donations of teacher care packs or supplies for care packs (thank you/encouragement notes, herbal tea, candles, chocolates, other) to provide to teachers on first day of in-person instruction, to show appreciation, support and encouragement. Schools are in urban area.
Please e-mail organizer at [email protected] for contactless pick-up, or drop-off of care packs on January 18th. Organizer will porch pick-up care packs or donations for care packs in Grand Rapids and suburbs area. Organizer will assemble care packs on evening of Jan. 18.

Notes from the organizer: All events hosted in partnership with the PIC on the National Day of Service must comply with the following guidelines as well as the most up-to-date CDC and local health and safety guidance. Those guidelines could include indoor and outdoor gathering and capacity limits, social distancing, and travel restrictions. When you do, please ensure that everyone is at least 15 feet away from anyone else. - Participants must maintain six (6) to ten (10) feet of separation from other people at all times. - Participants should wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom or touching high touch surfaces. - If participants feel symptomatic or display any symptoms, please refrain from attending the event.
