About this event

Donate and Volunteer to Overcome Racism, Poverty, and Injustice in Detroit with Focus: HOPE

Donation and volunteer sign-up drive for Focus: HOPE

  • Focus: HOPE is a nondenominational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Detroit, Michigan dedicated to overcoming racism, poverty, and injustice through intelligent and practical action. One of the longest-serving organizations of its kind, it was founded in 1968 with a study that demonstrated city residents paid more for food and prescriptions than suburban residents.

  • Support Focus: HOPE’s crisis response efforts by making a donation or signing up for volunteer opportunities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Focus: HOPE is continuing its Food for Seniors, Early Learning & Youth Development, and Workforce Development programs.

  • To donate, please visit: https://www.focushope.edu/donate/. Any amount makes a difference!

  • To volunteer, please visit: https://focushope.galaxydigital.com/. Although Focus: HOPE is closed on MLK Day in observance of Dr. King’s life, there are in-person CDC-compliant volunteer opportunities throughout the year located in Southeast Michigan.
