Our mission The International Institute is dedicated to working with foreign-born and with all Americans in the constant task of solving social problems, acculturation, education and acceptance. It provides and utilizes human and physical resources to advance the welfare and the integration of the foreign-born and their relatives; foster community awareness that varied cultures contribute to the richness of American life; and serve other organizations in the areas of its competence.

About us The International Institute is today a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an agency of the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security to present its Citizenship Program, located in Detroit's vibrant University-Cultural Center/ Midtown District, that offers a variety of legal, educational, language, career development, and cultural enrichment services and programs to assist immigrants become productive U.S. citizens, while preserving the language, culture, food, music, dance, literature, costumes, and heritage of their native countries from around the world. Its programs are funded by United Way Community Services, grants, fundraisers, and donations from generous businesses and individuals.
