Ways to help

Off-Site Community Clinics

Volunteers are needed for off-site Community Clinics held throughout the year, normally on weekends. Interaction with pet owners and their animals will occur. Volunteers must be able to commit to a 4 - 5 hour shift and have transportation to the off-site location. Standing for extended lengths of time and/or sitting positions are available. Ideal For: Adults, Retirees, Junior High and/or High School students. Kids age 12 and older are welcome with a parent.

Fundraisers and Table Events

Volunteers are needed to help at the various fundraisers and community events where a vendor table and/or booth is present. Volunteers must be able to commit to a 2 or 3 hour shift, have transportation and communicate well with the public. The ability to speak about the Organization, answer questions and give information to those inquiring is essential. Must be able to stand for extended lengths of time. Ideal For: Adults, Retirees, Seniors and High School students. Kids age 12 and older are welcome with a parent.

Office Help/Administrative

Volunteers are always needed for administrative assistance doing such things as: reminder calls, appointment setting, filing, fundraising prep, assisting with the Pantry 4 Paws program and other miscellaneous administrative tasks. Ideal for Adults, Retirees, Seniors and High School students.

Pantry 4 Paws Delivery Coordinator

A few volunteers are needed to help coordinate and (if available) pick up food/item donations locally and bring back to the Tail Waggers office. Loading and unloading of donated food/items, along with organizing, sorting and rotating existing pet food is helpful. At times, heavy lifting will occur. Ideal For: Adults, High School students and STRONG men.

Pet Cadet School Coordinator

A few volunteers are needed to help bring back our Pet Cadet program! This position has interaction with Elementary and Middle School students and girl/boy scouting troops. The Pet Cadet Coordinator will be the Organization liason for school events, field trip opportunities and age-appropriate events where school-aged kids can become involved! A background check will be required. Ideal For: Adults and Retirees

About us For over 30 years, the Tail Waggers’ name has been recognized in the community for offering assistance to animals in need. Realizing the demand for affordable services and pet food assistance, the Wellness Center became a reality in 2011 and continues to be a welcoming place for pet owners and their four-legged friends today. Tail Waggers offers affordable preventative pet care for every pet owner by appointment. The Pantry 4 Paws Pet Food Assistance program offers temporary assistance to those pet owners that have fallen on a challenging time – no animal should go to sleep hungry at night!
