Ways to help

Behind the Scenes Volunteer

If you’d rather work behind the scenes, you can help with educational programs, story telling/crafts, mailings, facility and/or yard maintenance, or other jobs that help us keep the Point Betsie Lighthouse a treasured destination for locals and visitors. Grounds volunteers may help set up for events, pull weeds, trim shrubs, or sweep sidewalks.

Lighthouse Volunteer

Volunteers help Point Betsie visitors as guides in the lighthouse and the Boathouse Museum, as well as with merchandise and purchases in the gift shop. Volunteer shifts are typically 10-12, 12-2, and 2-4 every day except Tuesday and Wednesday in May, September and October, and every day except Tuesday, June, July and August. Docents may be asked to stand for long periods, climb the tower steps, or walk our grounds.
