Stagehands/Running Crew

Each show requires people working back stage to make things happen correctly on stage. Responsibilities range from cleaning before a performance, preparing the set, coordinating special effects, Fly operation, and moving set pieces.

Costumes

Stage Managers and Assistant Directors

Business Office

Props

This position is part of the stage crew. Properties are all of the set dressings and small articles used in a production. Time commitment is the full run of the show plus tech week and some rehearsals.

How you help Our organization utilizes volunteers in all aspects of the performing arts. During the course of a production season, we utilize the contributions of up to 350 volunteers, which equates to approximately 30,000 hours of volunteer time. For every actor that you see on stage, there are numerous technicians behind the scenes supporting them!
About us MCT is a consolidation of the former Civic Opera Association, Port City Playhouse and Muskegon Youth Theatre. The combined history of these theatre groups has spanned decades of service in the greater Muskegon area. Muskegon Civic Theatre accomplishing its mission through a variety of diverse productions and educational opportunities in all elements of theater in Muskegon and West Michigan communities.
