Our mission

The Maurice AC Kirkwood Jr. Youth Foundation empowers youth to overcome barriers, unlock their potential, and inspire community transformation. Guided by the values of compassion, education, and equity, the Foundation provides targeted services and community engagement programs that address the urgent needs of underserved populations.
How you help

The Maurice AC Kirkwood Jr. Youth Foundation helps youth and families by providing direct, hands-on support that addresses both immediate needs and long-term success. We remove barriers to opportunity by supplying school supplies, offering scholarships to first-year college students, operating a community clothes closet, and assisting with daily living needs. Our programs also include autism-related support services, resources for low-income and underserved pregnant teens through initiatives such as our Community Baby Shower Workshop, and care packages for college students to ease financial stress. By combining essential resources with encouragement, education, and mentorship, we create stability, build confidence, and empower individuals to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

The Maurice AC Kirkwood Jr. Youth Foundation is a Michigan-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting youth and families by removing barriers to success. Founded in 2016 in honor of Maurice AC Kirkwood Jr., the foundation was created to transform loss into purpose while continuing his legacy of compassion, service, and generosity. Through educational support, scholarships, clothing assistance, daily living resources, autism services, programs for low-income pregnant teens, and college care packages, the foundation provides holistic support that strengthens individuals and communities. At our core, we are a mission-driven organization committed to creating opportunity, restoring hope, and building brighter futures for underserved populations.
