2026 Ongoing ReStore Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES – Livingston County Habitat for Humanity (Ongoing)

Habitat for Humanity is, at its heart, a community builder. We work hand-in-hand with families in Livingston County to create safe, decent, and affordable housing—opening doors to stability, opportunity, and brighter futures. Through homebuilding, repairs, and essential maintenance support, we partner with individuals who might otherwise struggle to access these services. Time and again, we’ve seen how these opportunities transform lives, strengthen families, and uplift entire neighborhoods.

Why volunteer at the ReStore?

Because every helping hand makes a difference! From organizing and repairing donated items to assisting customers and keeping the store running smoothly, our volunteers are the heart of the ReStore. If you enjoy tinkering, staying active, meeting new people, or simply love giving back, there’s a place for you here.

We invite you to join our Habitat family. Our ReStore is a place full of energy, teamwork, and genuine community spirit. Volunteers help with the day-to-day operations that keep the store thriving, and every task contributes to building homes and hope right here in Livingston County.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Cashier- Greet customers, run the register, and help create a positive shopping experience.

  • Workshop- Repair, assemble, or tinker with donated items and furniture.

  • Sales Floor- Assist customers, stock shelves, and keep the store looking great.

  • Processing Donations- Sort, clean, test, and prepare incoming items for resale.

  • Driver/ Passager- Help collect donations from the community (must meet driving requirements).

Volunteer Benefits:

Volunteering with us offers flexible hours that fit your schedule, making it easy to participate when it works best for you. It’s a great team-building opportunity for groups, workplaces, families, and friends, and it provides meaningful social connections as you meet new people and become part of a fun, supportive community. Your time directly contributes to helping local families and supporting affordable housing, all while giving you the chance to build valuable skills in customer service, retail, teamwork, and more. And above all, it’s simply fun—our volunteers enjoy a lively, welcoming environment filled with people who care.

FLEXIBLE HOURS:

  • Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
