Our mission

We are committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We offer to people of goodwill the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and celebration of life.
Opportunities

Mission in Motion - During Pandemic

In response to the pandemic, we have made adjustments to our programs to maintain safe practices and social distancing. We have new volunteer opportunities including Telephone Reassurance, Friendship Mail, and Grocery Shopping and Delivery. Telephone Reassuance allows our elderly Forever Friends to stay connected to their community and neighbors while engaging in friendly and calming conversation. Friendship Mail encourages thoughtful sharing of letters, greeting cards, refrigerator art, and more. Grocery Shopping and Delivery allows our elders to stay safe at home.

Office Support

We ask Volunteer Receptionists to commit to answer and make phone calls and perform various office tasks for four hours once or twice per week. Additional volunteer opportunities including help with filing and mailings have flexible hours and dates.

As a volunteer-based organization, we rely on volunteers for all of our programs and services. Whether you have just a few hours a year to several hours a week, Little Brothers may be a place for you.

“Flowers before bread” is our founder Armand Marquiset’s motto. It expresses his philosophy that everyone needs love and friendship in their life. It is the human touch that makes life worth living. Our motto “where service to the elderly begins by being a friend”reminds us that the most important gift we bring when we knock on the door is the gift of friendship. With every service we provide and with every gesture that we do, we do it in the spirit of friendship.
