Our volunteers handle dogs at the events, sharing their attributes with potential adopters. What better way to get a doggie fix? All it takes is a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Would you be willing to provide help at the kennels we work with?
This would involve taking dogs on walks to practice their leash walking skills; transporting the dogs to the veterinarian’s office; bringing the dogs to adoption events; taking photos of the dogs; spending time with the dogs to learn traits about them that we can list on their web page; and meeting potential adopters at the kennel to do the paperwork to finalize adoptions.

Foster

Becoming a foster, allows you to experience the true joy of saving a life, and to meet some wonderful dogs, each with their own personality and traits. LDDR provides food, vetting, and general expenses for each foster dog. Each new foster will be assigned a LDDR Mentor that helps them through the process, from picking up your new foster at transport, through to the adoption.

About us

To us, Last Day is more than just a name; it is a situation that all of our animals are faced with. We are a no-kill animal rescue based in Livonia, Michigan, with foster volunteers located all over the state of Michigan. By foster, we mean that there are loving people who willingly take in these beautiful transient creatures and do their very best to provide them with safety, security and love. While we openly take in puppies and dogs who are in good shape, our focus is on saving those who are most likely to be thrown away, abandoned and unloved. This organization was founded on the principle that all life is precious and should be given the chance to be loved, cherished and cared for.
