Our mission

Our mission is to provide reliable, quality programing, resources, and meals in a safe and nurturing environment to at-risk youth, ages 5-17, and their families of the Lake Superior Village area.

You can help us provide healthy meals, tutoring, mentoring, before and after-school programming, and summer programs—free of charge—to the Lake Superior Village community!

We rely on the generosity of people like you! All funding for supplies, programming, yearly expenses, and operational costs comes from donations, grants, and sponsorships from the local community.

Hours of operation: Monday – Friday  7am-9am (for Before School Program) and 3:30pm-6pm (for After School Programing)

Lake Superior Village List of Needs for Donations

School & Tutoring Supplies

  • Notebooks, journals, and lined paper
  • Pencils, markers, highlighters, crayons and colored pencils
  • Dry erase markers and whiteboards
  • Calculators (basic and scientific)
  • Backpacks and pencil cases
  • Folders and binders

Arts & Crafts Supplies

  • Construction paper and cardstock
  • Glue sticks, scissors, tape, paint, and paintbrushes
  • Beads, string, and jewelry-making supplies
  • Stickers and stamps

Meal & Snack Items (non-perishable, individually wrapped preferred, unopened, with a legible expiration date)

  • Granola bars, fruit snacks, and crackers
  • Cereal and oatmeal packs
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Canned soups, fruits, and vegetables
  • Pasta and rice
  • Healthy snack options (no artificial Sweeteners)

Recreational & Outdoor Supplies

  • Board games, puzzles, sidewalk chalk and bubbles
  • Sports equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, etc.), Hula hoops and cones for outdoor activities
  • Yoga mats and fitness equipment

Before & After School Care Needs

  • Books (for all ages), Educational games and STEM kits
  • Small blankets or cozy seating
  • Hygiene kits (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, etc.)

Summer Program Needs

  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Water bottles
  • First aid kits
  • Personal Floatation Devices for youth and adults

Technology & Office Supplies

  • Tablets for student use
  • Headphones for computer stations
  • File folders, card stock, staplers, and paper clips

General Household & Cleaning Supplies

  • Paper towels and tissues
  • Hand soap and hand sanitizer
  • Cleaning wipes and disinfectant spray
  • Trash bags and recycling bins
  • Dish soap and sponges
