Our mission	It is our mission to foster an environment of respect, responsibility, and compassion for companion animals through education, pet population control & leadership.

Opportunities	Office Work The HSMC Administration office is located in the Thrift Store, so you can help with office work! Work includes addressing and sending mailing, sorting, making copies, and other office work. Occasional 55+, Adults Individuals Office work, Indoor On-site Weekdays Organizing Store Front Making items presentable and neat is how we get sales! Help us organize and arrange our store. Clean shelves, rearrange, talk with customers, and more. Occasional, Monthly Teens, 55+, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Indoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Cleaning and Sorting Donations THe HSMC Thrift Store is getting new donations all weekdays. About us	The Humane Society of Monroe County (HSMC) was founded in 1954 by Monroe County residents who were concerned for the welfare of the companion animals in our community. For approximately 50 years, the society has operated a shelter where stray, abandoned or surrendered animals receive care – food, shelter, medical attention and love – until they can be placed in a permanent home. The society also promotes the humane treatment of animals through education; attempts to re-unite lost animals with their owners and provides a subsidized low or no cost spay/neuter program. The HSMC is a non-profit, no-kill organization
