Ways to help

Volunteer

Greet visitors with a smile, get a blanket for a patient who's feeling cold, comfort family members in the waiting room, enhance communication in the emergency departments, staff the gift shops and perform clerical duties. Some volunteers work on various special projects such as flu clinics, children's health fairs and screenings at the hospital and in the community. Volunteers can work any time of the day or night, seven days of the week. The Volunteer Resources Department prefers volunteers commit at least four hours a week.

How you help Volunteers are a vital, integral part of the care Henry Ford Health System offers by offering comfort to patients, assistance to hospital visitors and supporting staff by helping with clerical tasks. We are grateful for the generosity of our volunteers.

Since its beginnings as the East side's first hospital in 1899, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital has been a leader in advancing medicine and partnering with the Macomb County community to improve the health of those we serve.
