About us

After the Storm is a nonprofit dedicated to helping Michigan communities recover from disasters. We’re experienced in rebuilding, debris removal, and connecting people with resources. Our team includes locals who have faced similar challenges, and we use a proven recovery model to support your goals. Founded by the Michigan Conference of The United Methodist Church after the 2022 Detroit flood and Gaylord tornado, we’ve assisted hundreds of families and are trusted by partners across the state. We work with all people and organizations, regardless of religious affiliation, and donations are tax deductible. Before becoming independent, our team helped with recovery projects throughout Michigan, including the Midland dam breach.
