About us | Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working across all 50 states in the U.S. and more than 70 countries. Equipped with a vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 59 million people achieve strength and stability through safe and affordable shelter. Since founding the local affiliate in 1995, Habitat Oakland has helped over 1,800 individuals and families access a continuum of housing support that includes: Affordable Homeownership Critical Home Repairs Neighborhood Revitalization Financial Counseling In addition, Habitat Oakland operates two home improvement and donation outlet centers known as the ReStores. Located in the cities of Southfield and Waterford, these retail operations are open to the public to sell new and gently used items at very affordable prices. The sales proceeds from the ReStores are directed back into the affiliate to help support the housing programs listed above. |
