Our mission	To provide healthy food options by feeding our neighbors today while empowering them for tomorrow.

Opportunities	The Pantry Intake Agents Volunteers enter neighbor information into the countywide database, recording services provided and acting as first point of contact as people come to The Pantry. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays Personal Shoppers Volunteers assist clients in selecting items while shopping in The Pantry using recommended dietary suggestions and based upon family size. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays Senior USDA Distribution Volunteers help check-in neighbors and verify paperwork before distributing monthly USDA goods. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor On-site Weekdays Stockers Volunteers sort and stock shelving so the Neighbor’s Choice Pantry is always full and has a variety of items available. Occasional, Monthly Teens, 55+, Adults, Child with Adult Individuals, Groups (2-10), Families Indoor None Weekdays Administrative Assistance Basic computer work – data entry, writing thank you letters, using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Office work, Indoor None, On-site Weekdays Holiday Baskets Volunteers sign up individuals for a Holiday Grocery Basket and / or Toys for Tots. One-time, Occasional Teens, 55+, Adults, Child with Adult Individuals, Families Indoor None Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Drivers Volunteers drive either the box truck or van to pick up food goods from a variety of manufacturers, agencies and churches; drivers are needed 7 days a week. Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor, Outdoor None Weekdays Committee Members Volunteers spend time with other individuals to discuss, plan and execute certain plans and events. About us	At The Green Apple Pantry we seek to improve the lives of our community, by providing nourishment to our neighbors in need, supplying them with healthy food and personal items; as well as tools of empowerment. We’ll serve anyone in need during regular Pantry hours, regardless of your financial situation or geographic area the first time. Our usual visitors will be residents of southeast Kent County with incomes lower than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
