Ways to help |
Journey BeadsWe are looking for volunteers to make beads for children with cancer.EventsWe have several events throughout the year including Art Hops, Blue Heat Glass Art Auction and Gala, Art on the Mall, Hot Glass on Tap, and Glassblowers Battle. We are always looking for help to make these events successful!Facilities and Gallery AssistanceWith 7,000 square feet of space, we always have some cleaning projects. We also schedule days to clean before our events. We also appreciate volunteers for those days that we “spruce” up the gallery and gift shop. |

How you help | Our volunteers are the best! Our volunteer corps helps us in a variety of ways – from making beads for children with cancer to staffing a special event. Without the support of the entire community, especially our amazing volunteers, we couldn’t do what we do. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities available throughout our organization from building maintenance to gallery assistance to board service. Many of our volunteers earn incentives, such as studio time and class credit. |

About us | Founded in 2002 by a group of local glass artists, Glass Art Kalamazoo (GAK) is a nonprofit, community-access glass arts and education center located at the Park Trades Center in downtown Kalamazoo. Glass Art Kalamazoo’s goal is to be a place where everyone feels at home, pursues their glass art passion, learns from each other and inspires the next generation of artists. Our facilities include a variety of glass art studios, an art gallery and gift shop. We routinely host public demonstrations and events designed to increase community awareness and exposure to glass art. Discover your creative side by taking a class, exploring our art gallery/gift shop, or watching a live hot glass or Journey Bead demonstration during Art Hop. We hope to see you in our studios soon! |
