Giving Paws

To serve our community with trained support dogs and support programming which ensures the care of animals. The vision of Giving Paws is to ensure best practices are implemented and followed for support animals in our community and the care of animals.

Volunteers provide foster homes for temporary placement of pets when their humans are facing temporary difficult times.

Our PAWstory
Our founding Executive Handler takes care of Clinton County’s first Canine Advocate (court dog). In this work, many great dog lovers ask about how their dogs can support the community.

​In 2022, along with other community dog lovers our Leaders of the Pack (LOP) formed. Collectively our LOP has many years of experiences in nonprofit work, dog handling and training, business, education, veterinary care and community service.

Throughout 2022 we established Giving Paws as a legal 501(c)3 organization and development and implementation of policies to ensure best practices of our agency including ​Leaders of the Pack, volunteers, and staff.

​In 2023 our first support dogs got their Paws on the Ground sharing dog joy, and​ we launched our local vendor store to help fund our mission!

2024 we added our Pet Partners Fostering Program, a unique pet fostering program to serve our community.
