We are dedicated to relieving hunger and preventing nutritious food waste.

We greatly appreciate you making the commitment to volunteer at Forgotten Harvest. We are truly relying on you to help pack emergency food boxes and re-pack or sort fresh nutritious food that will be distributed through Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb County. Without your help, the community loses out on life sustaining resources.

In 1990, we set down roots in the greater metro Detroit area and began rescuing food surpluses from grocery stores, markets, restaurants, caterers, and more. We took the donated excess food and delivered it free-of-charge to emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area. We deliver 144,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities five days a week, providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge.
