Ways to help youth thrive

Community Based Mentoring

Mentoring Services provides mentoring to several different populations, including Foster Care and youth living in a Residential facility, At-Risk and High Needs Youth, and youth that have experienced instanced of trauma. Mentor's serve as positive figures that spend time with youth, and help them to achieve person centered goals. Mentor's are expected to spend at least 6-8 hours with their youth, per month, as well as calling their youth twice per month. Mentor's should have a drive to help strengthen the youth in their community, and be understanding of the multitude of backgrounds and experiences in the Greater Grand Rapids Area. Each Mentor should be open to communication, be caring and understanding of the youth that they are matched with, be supportive and reliable, and be honest and willing to work with others.
