Our mission

Provide area families and individuals with food, clothing, shelter and the opportunity to build necessary skills to achieve a stable and prosperous life.
Opportunities

Sort & Pack Food

Help pack boxes of fresh food for client pick up at the Pantry. Sort produce, cans and other donated food items. Help with other tasks in the Pantry, including unpacking from food deliveries, checking items for expiration dates and freshness, breaking down cardboard boxes, and general cleanup.

Items we need

Large In-Kind Donations

Large in-kind donations are always welcome. If you have large items or quantities we are happy to pick them up free of charge; however, days and times for this service are limited.

Please click the “Request Pickup” button below and information about your items, and our Logistics team will be in touch soon. Call (616) 796-0164 between 10:00am and 6:00pm, Monday – Friday to schedule a pick up.

Resale Store Donations

Our Resale Store’s primary mission is to financially support the programs of Community Action House. The proceeds generated by the resale of your donations allow CAH staff to spend more time doing what they do best: helping our neighbors through hunger relief, homeless outreach, empowering positive change, all to build prosperity.

Clothing, furniture, and household items may be donated at The Resale Store located at 694 Michigan Avenue, Monday through Saturday, 10am – 6pm.
