Creative Team

The Creative Team helps with public relations, social media outreach, flyer distribution and creative elements for some of our programs. These Team Members may possess special skills like photography, writing, graphic design or they may know a lot of people who they can invite to our events.

Civic Engagement and Advocacy

CFI is committed to empowering residents. One way we do this is by connecting residents to civic engagement opportunities and platforms that allow community members to advocate for themselves. Previous efforts have included educating people on and helping them register to vote as well as for the 2020 Census.

Culture Shock

Culture Shock exposes families in to arts and culture in unique and unusual ways. By altering and enhancing perceptions of arts and culture individuals and families can expand their horizons, broaden their tastes and deepen their understanding of the world around them. One way is through pop up performances throughout the community. If you are a talented musician, singer, dancer, or other performing artist, please sign up for this unique opportunity!

Green Life

The goal of Green Life is to educate residents and businesses about environmental concerns that affect them and to empower them to make choices that will improve life for all residents. Topics for Green Life events include: recycling, energy efficiency, pollution reduction, water conservation, sustainability and environmentally friendly cleaning products. As a Green Life Team Member you might: assist CFI staff and other team members at community forums on green education; set-up and tear-down/clean up materials and equipment as needed; and interact with public to answer questions, engage interest and promote learning.

Oak Street Senior Apartments Activity Team

Oak Street Senior Apartments is an apartment building for low income seniors located in downtown Flint, developed by Communities First, Inc. CFI renovated the historic Oak School, re-purposing a blighted structure and providing an amazing home for seniors. Our Activity Leader Team members provide arts, cultural and educational activities in a safe and welcoming environment to residents of Oak Street Senior Apartments.
