Foster

CHS animals that are placed within our Foster Program are truly special. Oftentimes, they are selected for the program based off of their needs: medical or behavioral. From young kittens struggling without a nursing mom, to dogs post-surgery, to learning social manners, our foster animals learn life-saving skills in your home, so that they can eventually find their forever place in this world. You must be 21 to foster. We accept multiple applications on each animal, it is not on a first come basis. CHS does not guarantee approval for the foster program.

How you help Every year at CHS, we adopt out and save over 1,000+ animals per year. The care and time necessary to love those animals and provide a safe harbor for them, is numerous. That’s where our wonderful volunteers create their biggest impact.
About us We provide a safe harbor for the animals entrusted to us as we strive to find them responsible, loving and permanent homes while advancing the well-being of animals. We consider and accommodate, as much as possible, the physical, emotional, behavioral, and social well-being of each animal from that individual animal’s perspective. We support people in making good adoption choices that meet their specific circumstances as well as helping people keep their companion animals by giving them the tools and resources to correct the issues that are driving their desire to relinquish their animal.
