Our mission

The mission of Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties is the work of the Catholic Church, to share the love of Christ by performing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
Opportunities

Community Closet

Located in our Center for Hope, the Community Closet has many volunteer opportunities. Help with sorting and organizing donations, welcoming clients, and assisting them to find the things that they need.

Soup Kitchens

Last year we serviced almost 200,000 meals to the residents of Genesee County. Our programs provide vital support to the community, giving them not only a hot meal, but also relief from the cold and a place to socialize. Volunteer to prepare and serve a meal at one of our three Flint Soup Kitchens. Individuals and groups are welcome.

Professional Expertise

With more than 40 programs serving thousands of individuals each year, Catholic Charities relies on the generosity of volunteers to help us fulfill our mission of providing help and creating hope for those in need. Every year volunteers lend us their greatest gifts of time, talent, and resources to help us meet critical human service needs in Shiawassee and Genesee Counties.
About us

Catholic Charities of Shiawassee & Genesee Counties are proud to celebrate 80 years of providing hope, help and healing in the communities we serve. We are increasing the impact of every one of us by providing more opportunities to make a difference. In 2020, with the help of 10,330 volunteer hours we provided 180,277 meals in our soup kitchens, Sandwich Programs and Warming Center helped 21,462 people through our community closet, and much more.
