How you help | Volunteers contribute to the success of everything we do and our animals benefit tremendously from the time and compassion they give. More than 2,500 volunteers devote 32,000+ hours of time each year to ensure our animals are properly socialized, exercised, and loved. |

About us | At the Capital Area Humane Society, we are passionate about animals. Our wide variety of programs and services exist to serve the pets and people of Mid-Michigan. We have an excellent staff of nearly 40 animal lovers who see each adoption as a victory. More than 10,000 animals come through our doors each year. The shelter receives no tax dollars or government funding and relies on the generosity of donors to help us provide love, food, shelter, and medical care to homeless and abandoned pets. We are a local, private, and independent animal welfare organization founded in Lansing in 1936 and all donations and gifts directed to the CAHS are used to assist the animals in the greater Lansing community. |
