The Board of Directors at Mitten State Arts Collaborative provides strategic oversight, governance, and support to advance the organization’s mission. Our board members bring diverse expertise in arts, business, and community development to ensure the success and sustainability of our programs. They serve as ambassadors for the arts, fostering connections between artists, funders, and the community.


The board meets monthly to discuss organizational strategy, financial oversight, and program impact. Board members also contribute by participating in committees, attending events, and supporting fundraising efforts to strengthen Michigan’s creative landscape.

Donation Organization strives for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
Requirements

  • Passion for the arts and commitment to fostering community engagement.

  • Willingness to serve a two-year term with the possibility of renewal.

  • Attendance at quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person).

  • Participation in at least one committee (e.g., fundraising, outreach, programming).

  • Support the organization through an annual give-or-get commitment (e.g., personal donation, securing sponsorships, or grant writing).

  • Act as an ambassador by promoting Mitten State Arts Collaborative’s initiatives and attending key events.

  • Assist in identifying potential partnerships and funding opportunities.
