Ways to help youth thrive

Bethany Christian Services Mentoring

Bethany Christian Services' mentoring program serves three youth populations: Domestic Foster Care, Refugee Foster Care, and Youth Services (for older at-risk youth in the Grand Rapids community). Mentors in our program serve as positive role models who are willing to offer a listening ear and spend quality time with their mentee. The program is community-based, meaning that match activities take place out in the community. We ask that mentors commit to spending at least four hours per month with their mentee for one year. We also plan several free events throughout the year that have a career/educational focus for all age groups.

About us We believe every child deserves to be loved, connected, and empowered through family. Bethany is a global nonprofit that supports children and families with world-class social services, all designed to help families thrive. Today, 140 million kids don't have a permanent home. That's unacceptable. At Bethany, we witness what happens when people choose love. Not theoretical, unblemished love, but the real, messy, imperfect kind. The orphans and vulnerable children who feel alone, and the refugees living in a world of uncertainty. Everyone deserves to be loved. Together, we can change the world through family. Over 75 years ago, we began our work by serving a single child. Today, we work in more than 30 states and more than a dozen countries worldwide, serving more than 50,000 people every year.
