Volunteer

The work you do here at the museum is a service to our community. There is no commitment. Whether you have 2 hours a week or month, we are always happy to have your presence at the museum. Opportunities include: museum guide, building maintenance, special events, cataloging/data entry, research, collections, cleaning, reception, grounds care, garden club, exhibit preparation, educator, and more.

How you help Here at the Besser Museum we value our volunteers so much. We are always looking for volunteers to help lead and teach school groups, organize our array of historical photos, general cleaning to help our building look in tip-top shape, and many other areas. 
About us Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan is an educational institution dedicated to providing the public with enriching cultural experiences in art, history and science. The Museum’s eight-acre campus offers a modern 42,000 square foot facility containing a collection of over 47,000 artifacts. The Museum houses a full dome planetarium and a two-story Foucault pendulum. Besser Museum also offers the unique opportunity to dig and keep all the Devonian period fossils you find in our outdoor Lafarge Fossil Park exhibit.
