About us Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan, founded in 1993 and serving Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, is a nonprofit, hands-on, all-volunteer organization. Our dedicated 300 members and hundreds of community volunteers provide over 52,000 volunteer hours a year. The Southeastern Michigan chapter is one of 120 chapters (more than 22,000 members nationwide) of National Assistance League®, founded in the 1890s in California.
