Our mission

To shelter and nurture lost or abandoned pets while seeking loving caregivers who will provide them with a permanent home; be a community educator for the benefit of its pet population; and provide support to the pet caregivers of our community.

We even have opportunities to get involved that don’t depend on direct animal contact for those of you that feel you would “take them all home”: fundraising, marketing, maintenance, and janitorial.

Shelter Volunteer

We are seeking willing people to help care for our residents while they await their forever home. These are just a few of the many volunteer opportunities available with Almost Home Animal Shelter: cat cage/dog kennel cleaning, dog walking and socializing, and cat socializing and grooming.

About us

The Shelter offers services, such as finding homes for adoptable animals, providing shelter for stray animals and offering assistance to owners and finders of lost animals. In addition to its paid staff, the shelter is assisted by the efforts of our volunteers who work with the animals in our care and participate in various fundraising programs.
