Program and Special Event Volunteer

 

General Volunteer Responsibilities

PPDC volunteers may assist with a variety of tasks, including:

  • Greeting and welcoming clients as they arrive
  • Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility
  • Assisting staff with daily program activities and group engagement
  • Supporting meal or snack distribution (if applicable)
  • Helping organize supplies, donations, and program materials
  • Providing friendly conversation and companionship to clients
  • Assisting with sign-in sheets or basic administrative tasks

Client Engagement Support

Volunteers are encouraged to positively interact with clients by:

  • Participating in recreational or skill-building activities
  • Encouraging socialization and inclusion among participants
  • Supporting structured groups led by staff when appropriate

Special Events & Activities

Volunteers are especially valuable during PPDC special events. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with event setup and breakdown (decorations, tables, seating, etc.)
  • Helping coordinate activities, games, or entertainment
  • Distributing food, giveaways, or event materials
  • Greeting guests and helping with event flow
  • Supporting themed events such as holiday celebrations, community days, or outreach programs
  • Ensuring a welcoming, positive, and organized environment for all attendees

Additional Contributions

Depending on interest and availability, volunteers may also:

  • Assist with fundraising or donation drives
  • Help promote community awareness events
  • Provide support with creative projects (flyers, decorations, activity planning)

 Volunteer at Events & Outreach

  • Help with special events, workshops, and community days
  • Support outreach efforts to engage new participants
  • Represent PPDC in the community
