The Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village is composed of longtime Flint residents, community members, stakeholders, and newcomers that call Flint home.This group of individuals is committed to being part of an equitable resurgence of Flint, Michigan by investing in its young people. The Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village serves as a pillar of community life for the city of Flint. Although we particularly focus on the northern region of Flint where people, institutions, economies, and infrastructure have been impacted by disinvestment and isolation for several decades, our long-term goal of the is to provide young people of the entire city a space to heal, learn, develop, lead, and invest in their individual development, as well as the development of their communities.
