Mission: To end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims and prevent underage drinking.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD) is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to ending drunk driving, combating drugged driving, preventing underage drinking, and supporting victims of these violent crimes. Founded in 1980 by a mother who lost her daughter to a drunk driver, MADD has since saved nearly 380,000 lives, reduced drunk driving deaths by over 50%, and provided vital support services to nearly one million victims. Through its Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving®, MADD advocates for stronger laws, innovative vehicle technologies, and community-driven prevention measures to create safer roads for everyone.

MADD works tirelessly to end drunk and drugged driving while providing comprehensive support to victims and their families. Our efforts include:
- Partnering with law enforcement to promote high-visibility campaigns and enforcement strategies.
- Advocating for the use of ignition interlocks for all DUI offenders and supporting advanced vehicle technology to prevent impaired driving.
- Conducting community outreach, educational programs, and public awareness campaigns to prevent underage drinking and reduce impaired driving incidents.
- Offering emotional support and assistance to victims, helping them navigate medical, legal, and personal challenges after a crash.
- Collaborating with lawmakers to strengthen DUI laws and close existing loopholes to protect lives.
