i.C.A.R.E. stands for Inspiring Change And Revolutionizing Education. iCARE Detroit which is based in the City of Detroit, mission is to educate the community in different faucets of life. It is our belief that education is the foundation of life. Through education we can increase civic engagement, self-awareness, and promote social change.

iCare Detroit is an organization designed to help students in economically-disadvantaged situations increase their literacy. Approximately 48% of Detroit’s residents are noted as being functionally illiterate and our goal is to decrease this rate. We provide education support services to students in grades K-12 through the form of tutoring, workshops, seminars, and our Literacy unBoxed initiative. Our Literacy unBoxed initiative is to provide educational resources to students including books, worksheets, and different enriching activities to keep students actively engaged even outside of the traditional classroom. We also host educational seminars and workshops tailored to adults such as financial literacy classes.
