Mission: To improve the health and well being of our community’s children by empowering parents with knowledge, skills, and resources needed for a safe and nurturing environment.
Expectant Parents Organization (EPO), a 501C3, community-based agency, has been serving Mid-Michigan parents for over 70 years. Our team of educators have a deep appreciation for the importance of partnering with families during the special time of pregnancy, childbirth and parenting a newborn. EPO classes are open for anyone, regardless of where you plan to deliver. Classes are designed for expecting parents and support people. Our classes are taught by an excellent team of passionate educators. Ideal time to take classes is during an expectant parent’s third trimester of pregnancy. Our classes will help prepare you for welcoming your new baby into your family.

Our organization does the following:
- Help expectant parents recognize that pregnancy, birth and parenthood are events that impact family members both individually and as a unit.
- Provide information, skills, and resources to empower families to make informed choices for their own health care and the health care of their baby.
- Identify individuals or groups within the community who have need for prenatal and parenting information, and establish or assist in establishing programs to meet those needs.
- Identify individual families who have needs that cannot be met by EPO programs and make appropriate referrals to other providers or agencies that can help address those needs.
- Provide experiences for students in health and health related professions to increase their knowledge and skills in meeting the needs of childbearing families.
