Help Brilliant Detroit families have access to more books and bedtime stories by volunteering to be a virtual story reader! We are looking for volunteers to record a video of themselves reading a children’s book out loud for us to share with our Brilliant Detroit families.

Mentor students ranging from 5-8 years old at The Center for Success. We’ve prepared activities for mentor-student pairs to use during the remote sessions. Training is required.

Brilliant Detroit is dedicated to building kid success families and neighborhoods where families with children 0-8 have what they need to be school-ready, healthy, and stable.

Engage in recreational activities with children in shelter, provide childcare during groups or meetings, and assist the Youth Advocate during parties and other special events. Volunteers help role model healthy, non-violent relationships while providing support and assistance to children who have effected by domestc violence and/or sexual assault.

As a volunteer, you’ll be cross-trained to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, education, and practical assistance to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault either in the shelter or on the phone.

To provide safe shelter, independence, empowerment and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking while seeking to end violence against individuals and their families through promoting social change, community education and public awareness in our community.
