The roots of the agency go back over 100 years, to organizations pioneering adoption and foster care services for homeless children in the state of Michigan. Northeast Michigan Family Resource Center first opened its door in 1958 as a field office of Child & Family Services of Michigan, in response to needs expressed by local communities. Today, our agency provides services that address such major community concerns as child abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, teenage pregnancy, and the plight of homeless youth.
