Volunteer Information

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for LACASA! We welcome volunteers from diverse
backgrounds and hope you will consider joining us and supporting our Mission.

There are many ways volunteers can make a difference at LACASA. You can choose to volunteer in a capacity that best suits your area of interest and your comfort level. Some volunteers prefer to work at one of our awareness events, fundraising events, our reception desk, or at our resale store, LACASA Collection. Others prefer to work directly with our clients and/or residents. We am happy to talk with you further about all of these opportunities.

To start your volunteer journey with LACASA, please fill out the accompanying volunteer application, Criminal History Background Check form, and the Central Registry Clearance Request form. Please note, the Central Registry Clearance Request form requires a copy/photo of the front side of your driver’s license (a passport or a State ID will work as well).

Please return your completed forms to the Volunteer Coordinator:
Email: [email protected]
Mail/Drop Off: LACASA 1920 Tooley Rd., Howell, MI 48855
Attention: Volunteer Coordinator

Once we have received your completed forms, we will run your criminal history background check. Generally, this takes a few days to complete. At the successful completion of this step, we will be in touch with you via email to invite you to an upcoming Volunteer Orientation that is mandatory for all volunteers to attend. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us. We look forward to working with you and supporting you through this journey. LACASA could not fulfill its’ Mission without the help of our many talented volunteers!

How you help

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available at LACASA. Whether you prefer to assist with fundraising events, help out at our charity resale boutique, or even work directly with clients, there are plenty of opportunities available for your interests and talents.

About us

We protect, advocate for and empower victims and survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual violence. This has been the mission of our nonprofit since 1981.

LACASA Center is an independent nonprofit. By independent, we mean that unlike most nonprofit agencies, we receive no funding from a national parent organization, nor do we send affiliation fees or a portion of local proceeds to a national parent organization. Our sustainability is based on individual donations from members of the community, and all donations stay local.

LACASA assists more than 5,000 victims and their families each year as they learn to cope with—and courageously heal from—the trauma of interpersonal violence.

Child abuse, family violence and rape are acts that defy understanding, yet they exist and require our immediate attention and intervention.

The residents of our community are committed to providing help, hope and resources for victims in crisis. They know this is the path to a safer tomorrow.

It is LACASA’s steadfast donors and financial supporters who make our services and programs available for victims at no cost.

It is LACASA’s dedicated board, staff and volunteers who carry out our mission of safeguarding the vulnerable.

We have been entrusted by the community to serve, to protect, to educate, and to advocate.

It is a privilege and an honor to help victims and survivors create new lives and build new futures.
