We offer two programs and are continuously looking to expand our footprint to impact communities. Through our state standard aligned curriculum, strong community partnerships, and invaluable mentorships, we aim to empower every student who walks through our doors.

Volunteers play a crucial role at 2nd Street Learning by serving as community partners who enrich students’ education with diverse resources and real-world insights. Collaborating with various entities in Flint and Genesee County, including businesses, nonprofits, universities, government agencies, and cultural institutions, volunteers bridge classroom learning with practical experiences, inspiring students’ passions and future careers. These partnerships foster belonging, engagement, and community involvement, boosting student confidence and motivation, ultimately cultivating them as true leaders who address local challenges and contribute to community well-being.

Founded by a couple with deep roots in Flint, Michigan, our organization is dedicated to revolutionizing education by prioritizing each child’s unique needs. With decades of experience in education and a shared passion for individualized learning, we’ve merged our separate programs to create 2nd Street Learning. Our mission is to bridge learning gaps exacerbated by truancy and disengagement, aiming to transform education through innovation. By fostering dynamic teaching methods and strong community partnerships, we envision a future where every student thrives academically, socially, and personally.
